The information we collect
When you enquire about a Nordu Garden building or a Nordu Home extension, contact us through our website, message us on WhatsApp, or respond to one of our adverts, we may collect:
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number, postcode or address
- Project details: the type of space you are interested in, rough size, timeline, and anything you share with us about your project
- Enquiry channel: whether you contacted us through our website form, WhatsApp Business, or a Meta (Facebook or Instagram) lead advert
- Communication history: messages, calls, or notes from conversations with our team
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and how you use our website, collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies
We do not knowingly collect financial details, payment card information, or sensitive category data such as health information, unless you choose to share it with us directly, for example as part of a project brief.
How we collect it
Website enquiry and contact forms
When you submit an enquiry through nordu.co, the details you enter are sent to our team and stored in our customer relationship system.
WhatsApp Business
If you message Nordu through WhatsApp Business, your phone number and the content of your messages are stored so we can respond and keep a record of the conversation. WhatsApp is operated by Meta, and messages sent through it are also subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy policy.
Meta Lead Ads (Facebook and Instagram)
If you submit your details through a Nordu advert on Facebook or Instagram, Meta shares the information you provide, such as your name, email, and phone number, directly with us so we can follow up on your enquiry. This is governed by Meta’s own privacy policy in addition to this one.
Cookies and similar technologies
This website and our advertising pages carry two advertising tags: the Meta Pixel, and the Google Ads tag. Both tell Meta or Google that a visit or an enquiry happened, so we can measure how our advertising performs, and both use cookies on your device to do it. Neither sets a cookie unless you accept. When you first arrive we ask, and nothing is stored until you say yes. You can change your answer at any time using the Cookies link in the footer.
The two work slightly differently, and we would rather say so than round it off. The Meta Pixel does not load at all unless you accept: decline, or ignore the question, and it never runs. The Google Ads tag does load, on every visit, but in a restricted mode in which it cannot use storage: it sets no cookies, reads none, and does not send Google anything that identifies you or the advert you clicked. Google receives only the fact that an anonymous visit happened, which it uses to estimate the advertising results it was not permitted to measure directly. If you accept, it is allowed to use cookies from that point on; if you decline, it stays in the restricted mode for as long as you are on the site.
Declining does not undo a cookie that was already set on an earlier visit, or withdraw a request that has already been made — nothing on the page can reach back and take those back — but it stops anything further from that moment, then and afterwards.
We also count visits ourselves, without cookies. A small script on each page tells SeeWork, which hosts this site, that a page was viewed: the page’s address, the site you came from, any labels on the link you followed, and whether you are on a phone, a tablet or a computer. It sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device, which is why it does not ask first. To tell one visitor from another within a single day, SeeWork combines your IP address and browser type with a key it replaces every day and then deletes, and keeps only the result: your IP address itself is not stored, and the same person cannot be recognised from one day to the next. Nothing it counts is shared with anyone else.
You can also control or block cookies through your browser settings, opt out of personalised advertising in your Facebook and Instagram ad settings, and do the same in Google’s ad settings.
Why we use your information
We use your personal data to:
- Respond to your enquiry and discuss your project
- Provide quotes, designs, and consultations through our team
- Keep records of our conversations and agreements
- Send you information you have asked for, such as brochures or appointment confirmations
- Improve our website and measure how our advertising performs
- Meet our legal and accounting obligations
Our legal basis for most of this is that it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract with you, or our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running our business. For advertising and measurement cookies we rely on your consent.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of third-party providers to run Nordu, and we share your information with them only so far as they need it to provide their service to us:
- SeeWork, which hosts this website, counts visits to it, and stores our customer and enquiry records. Facebook and Instagram lead adverts connect directly into SeeWork
- Meta, for WhatsApp Business messaging, Facebook and Instagram lead adverts, and pixel-based ad measurement across this website and our advertising pages
- Google, for advertising
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
International transfers
Some of the providers we use, including Meta and Google, may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as the UK’s International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent standard contractual clauses, so your data is protected to a UK standard wherever it is processed.
How long we keep your information
If your enquiry leads to a project with Nordu, we keep your information for as long as needed to deliver the project and to meet our legal and accounting obligations afterwards.
If your enquiry does not lead to a booking, we keep your details until you ask us to delete them, or until we no longer need them for the purpose they were collected, whichever is sooner. You can ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact details above.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Ask us what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it
- Ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Ask us to delete your data
- Ask us to restrict or object to how we use your data
- Ask us to move your data to another provider, where technically possible
- Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent, for example cookies
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Keeping your information secure
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including secure hosting, access controls, and working only with service providers who meet appropriate data protection standards.
Children
Nordu’s services are aimed at homeowners and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example as our systems or advertising channels change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
